Coming up for air!

Yes, I know it's been just about forever since I last chatted with you but I'm here now.

As you have probably realised we have been very busy which is why I seemed to just vanish for a while but I thought I'd take a quick break to just say hello!

We are trying to have a complete sort out here (mammoth task), which is why I titled this chat 'Coming up for air'. Talk about being bogged down in stuff. Since closing our shop last October we haven't really had time to sort through the stock we still held. It's getting done now because to be honest we need the space. We need more room for stamps etc so the other stuff must go. I think we ought to box it all up and sell it off at bargain prices. If you're interested in a 'lucky dip pack' let us know.

We've got papers, stickers, rub-ons, peel offs, scissors, vellums, punches, paints, tools, ... wow, there is a lot!

Life's mad!

I don't know about you but life around here is just bonkers sometimes (more often than not). Between work, the house and our boys ... it just never seems to let up. Obviously we put in a lot of hours working, in between times we are conscious that our 2 boys (aged 11 & 14) need to have a 'normal' life. That's where our taxi service comes in. Anyone who's got or had teenagers in the house will know what I mean. They always need a lift to or from one place or another....

Also, they always need to wear the one thing that hasn't been washed yet (the washing just seems never ending), or need to have their tea in a hurry to get to somewhere by a certain time, or need to have something for school (last minute obviously)....it goes on & on, and you'll notice these things are all 'NEED' and 'NOW' ..... but if we ask for something to be done, it's just 'In a minute' or 'I'll do it later'. To be honest a minute means some time in the next week and later means NEVER.

Anyway, at the moment, James (14) is supposed to be clearing his room out for us to decorate ... HA! what a laugh, he desperately wants his room done but doesn't want to clear out, so this should be interesting. Watch this space!

In the meantime we have almost finished the fun football stamp designs I mentioned before. They will be available very soon. I will try to get a picture up for you to see as soon as I can.

We are also starting to work on Christmas designs. We've got quite a lot already (not all on website yet - but will be soon) but it's always nice to have something new - that's my philosophy in life generally - new stamps, new ink pads, new shoes, new bag , whatever, new is good.

If you have any ideas for stamp designs, let us know. I'm not making any promises but there is always a chance that we will do something with your ideas. Sometimes I sit down to draw a certain design that's in my head and end up with something totally different so who knows what will happen. It would be nice for us to get ideas from the people who use our stamps though.

Talking of drawing, that's what I'm going to try to do now, so until next time,

We have been receiving loads of emails telling us how much people like our stamps - thanks so much, we're absolutely delighted. New members to our stamp club have been sending both emails and pictures of cards they have made with their first club stamp - amazing!! We're impressed with both the cards and the speed with which they were made .... why can't I work that quickly?

I have been asked many times if our stamps can be used on cards etc.. for selling. YES! We are an angel company which basically means that once you've bought the stamp you can stamp it on as many projects as you like whether they are for yourself or for selling.

To be honest, why would you want to buy a stamp and then be restricted in the use of it? That has never made any sense to me. As far as I'm concerned you should be able to stamp & stamp & stamp & stamp as many times and for as many things as your hands and ideas will allow.

So go on, get busy, and let your imagination run wild!

Time for me to sign off now, it's getting late ....... I might fit in a little stamping before calling it a day though - I just can't switch off.

OK, so this month's stamp club was sent out yesterday - already started working on next month's. We've already received some lovely comments from members, and they only received the stamp today (you're more efficient than me). It seems that everyone is finding the stamp versatile (everyone so far anyway), I like it and can see many ways in which I could use it. As I always say, "You have to play and see what you come up with".

Today has been a magazine day for me. Tomorrow will be too, and maybe Friday. I've got a commission for Quick Cards Made Easy that is a little bit different. I've been sent a card kit to use (I am also using Visible Image stamps - of course). It's a different way for me to work though, having some products chosen for me. It's a challenge - and I will rise to it (I hope!).

I'm off now to play with the newest member of our family - GIZMO. He's a hamster, and he is just soooooooooo cute!

I'm back - it's been a while

Wow, I think I've been neglecting my blog a bit. I kind of got buried beneath stuff for a while there. I was tidying my desk and decided to sort through my stash of stuff to try and make it all easy to access whilst working .... well need I say more? Before I knew where I was, I had pretty much buried my desk, laptop, floor, chair ....... everything really. At last I have found my desk again and so here I am.

It's amazing the things you find when you have a good sort out though isn't it? Now I've just got to find the time to use them.

OK so what's new at Visible Image? At the moment we are finishing some stamp designs for boys. We will be releasing a range of fun football stamps at the beginning of next month so keep your eyes open for them.

We have been quite busy on our website (thanks to you all) and as you will have realised we are still frantically filling it up - time always seems to be against us, but we will battle on.

Mark keeps telling me I need to put photos onto this blog but to be honest I haven't got a clue how to do that so I guess I'll have to learn - be warned it may take me a while though. Me and computers are not really pals.

Got to go now, I've got stamps to cut ready for this month's stamp club (going out on Tuesday - I'm always last minute).

OK so it's actually 2 projects - I had one of my many moments when I really just couldn't decide which one to do.... so.... when in doubt, do them all.

Time is flying!

I can't believe how quickly the days are flying past. I never seem to get enough done. Of course, we did take a couple of days off to go visit family over Easter. Mark is from Coventry so we were there visiting with his Dad which was nice and relaxing but then of course we've been catching up since getting back.

Well we're back into the swing of things again. We are still filling the website with goodies (I'll be so glad when it's all up-to-date, it's driving us nuts and taking up so much time). I would never have thought about the time these things take if we weren't doing it, so please be patient with us, we are trying to juggle so many things just at the moment.

Anyway, I guess I'd better not whitter on for ages there's work to be done. I will be back soon though so keep checking back.

Wow! I'm actually getting this blog started. I've been putting it off 'cause I really don't know what I'm doing, so bear with me while I faff around getting used to it.

What have we been up to?

Loads! Some of you may have seen the article that the lovely people at Quick Cards magazine wrote about us, but some of you may not have yet. It's in Issue 47 which subscribers have got but the shops won't have it 'til next week. Anyway, we have been chatting to the QCME bunch for a little while getting things sorted for the mag, I've been doing loads of design work for both Quick Cards and Beautiful Cards, we've been sorting out stuff for our stamp club, designing new stamps (which is always fun), trying to fill up the website and in between all that we've been trying to keep up with the day-to-day running of our business (whew! - it's no wonder I'm feeling tired!)

Well as I said the website is being filled up with goodies as fast as we can possibly do it. We hope to have most things sorted very soon but obviously we will then have new stuff to put on there so I guess it's going to be a constant work in progress. We will get some pictures in the gallery ASAP and I will keep working on new designs to upload for you to look at. If you would like to see your own designs (using our stamps) on our customer gallery, send us a picture (email or post) and we will get it on there.

Ok, so I seem to be waffling on a bit - this is easier than I thought it would be. I could probably keep going for ages but to be honest I have other stuff waiting to be done so I'd best leave it there for now. I plan on posting regular blogs so do keep checking back.

Just to let you know, we will be here tomorrow (Saturday) until about 4pm but then we will be away from the office until 9am Tuesday - we're having a couple of days off with our 2 boys for Easter.
